بَابُ ٱلْحِلْمِ

Hadith 55: Imam Abū Bakr ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Fūrak informed us: Abū Isḥāق Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad al-Dībalī informed us in Mecca: Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī narrated to us: Saʿīd ibn Manṣūr narrated to us: Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us on the authority of ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn ʿAbd Allāh, on the authority of Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, on the authority of ʿAlī – may Allah be pleased with him – who said: The Messenger of Allah – may Allah bless him and his family and grant them peace – said: “By [his] forbearance, a man attains the rank of the one who fasts and stands in prayer. Indeed, a man is recorded as a tyrant, while ruling over nothing but the people of his household.”
