Hadith 53: Al-Ḥākim Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥāfiẓ – may Allah have mercy on him – informed us: Abū Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Isḥāq al-Khurāsānī al-ʿAdl narrated to us in Baghdad: Aḥmad ibn ʿUbayd ibn Nāṣiḥ informed us: Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us: Sufyān al-Thawrī narrated to us, on the authority of al-Aʿmash, on the authority of Yaḥyā ibn Waththāb, on the authority of Ibn ʿUmar, on the authority of the Prophet – may Allah bless him and his family and grant them peace – that he said: “The believer who mingles with people and endures their harm is greater in reward than the believer who does not mingle with them or endure their harm.”
