بَابٌ فِي حُسْنِ ٱلظَّنِّ بِٱللَّهِ ﷿

22. Thinking Well of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime

ٱلْإِنْسَانُ يَجِبُ أَنْ يَكُونَ حَسَنَ ٱلظَّنِّ بِٱللَّهِ سُبْحَانَهُ فِي جَمِيعِ أَحْوَالِهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ تَقْصِيرٍ فِي حُسْنِ عِبَادَتِهِ وَأَعْمَالِهِ.
Man must have a good opinion of Allah, the Glorified, in all of his circumstances, without falling short in his excellent worship and deeds.
٣١ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو ٱلْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ٱلْأَهْوَازِيُّ، أَنْبَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ٱلصَّفَّارُ، ثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ٱلصَّنْعَانِيُّ، ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ، عَنِ ٱلْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ ﵌: «لَا يَمُوتَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَّا وَهُوَ يُحْسِنُ ٱلظَّنَّ بِٱللَّهِ ﷿.»
Hadith 31: Abū ʾl-Ḥوسayn ʿAlī ibn Aḥmad al-Ahwāzī informed us: Aḥmad ibn ʿUbayد al-Ṣaffār informed us: Hishām ibn ʿAlī narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Sulaymān al-Ṣanʿānī narrated to us: Ḥammād ibn Zayd narrated to us on the authority of Jarīر ibn Ḥāzim on the authority of al-Aʿmash on the authority of Abī Sufyān on the authority of Jābir who said: The Messenger of Allah – may Allah bless him and his family and grant them peace – said: “None of you should die except while having a good opinion of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime.”
