Hadith 32: Abū Nuʿaym ʿAbd al-Malik ibn al-Ḥasan al-Isfarāyinī – may Allah have mercy on him – informed us: Abū ʿAwāna Yaʿqūb ibn Isḥāq informed us: al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī ibn ʿAffān al-ʿĀmirī narrated to us: Ibn Numayr narrated to us: al-Aʿmash narrated to us on the authority of Abū Ṣāliḥ, on the authority of Abū Hurayra who said: The Messenger of Allah – may Allah bless him and his family and grant them peace – said: “Whoever relieves a believer of a hardship from the hardships of this world, Allah will relieve a hardship from him from the hardships of the Hereafter. Whoever is lenient on one in dire straits, Allah will be lenient on him in this world and the Hereafter. Allah aids His servant so long as the servant aids his brother. Whoever treads a path seeking knowledge, Allah will facilitate for him a path to Paradise. No people gather in a mosque from among the mosques of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, and studying it among themselves, except that tranquility descends upon them, mercy envelops them, the angels surround them, and Allah mentions them among those in His presence. And the one who is held back by his deeds will not be advanced by his lineage.”
