Hadith 17: Abū Nuʿaym ʿAbd al-Malik ibn al-Ḥasan al-Isfarāyinī informed us: Abū ʿAwāna Yaʿqūb ibn Isḥāq informed us: Abū ʿAlī al-Zaʿfarānī narrated to us: Shaybān narrated to us: al-Layth ibn Saʿd narrated to us on the authority of Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb, on the authority of ʿIrāk ibn Mālik, on the authority of Abū Hurayra who said: The Messenger of Allah – may Allah bless him and his family – said, “Indeed, the most evil of mankind is the two-faced one who comes to these with a face and to those with [another] face.”
Hadith 18: My maternal uncle Abū ʿAqīl ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Muḥammad al-Sulamī – may Allah have mercy on him – informed us: Muḥammad ibn Yaʿqūb al-Maʿqilī narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn ʿĪsā ibn Ḥayyān narrated to us: Sufyān ibn ʿUyayna narrated to us on the authority of Manṣūr, on the authority of Ibrāhīm, on the authority of Hammām, on the authority of Ḥudhayfa who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah – may Allah bless him and his family – say: “A talebearer (qattāt) will not enter Paradise.”
