Hadith 22: Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥasan ibn Shujāʿ ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Mūsā al-Bazzār informed us in Baghdād: Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Haytham al-Anbārī informed us: Muḥammad ibn Abī ʾl-ʿAwwām narrated to us: Wahb ibn Jarīr narrated to us: Hishām ibn Ḥassān narrated to us on the authority of al-Ḥasan, on the authority of ʿImرān ibn al-Ḥuṣayn who said: The Messenger of Allah – may Allah bless him and his family and grant them peace – said: “Seventy thousand people from my nation will enter Paradise without reckoning.” It was said: “O Messenger of Allah, who are they?” He said: “They are those who do not cauterize, nor seek incantations (ruqya), nor seek omens, but rely [solely] upon their Lord.” ʿUkkāsha ibn Miḥṣan al-Asadī said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, call upon Allah to make me among them.’ He said, “You are among them.” Then another man stood up and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, call upon Allah to make me among them.’ So he said, “ʿUkkāsha has preceded you to it.”
